The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has recently learned how valuable effectively-run PPC campaigns can be for police recruitment. They had dabbled internally with pay-per-click trials in the past, but weren’t seeing the results they were hoping for. Since recruitment is such a competitive industry, they decided to enlist the services of our SEO specialists and were pleasantly surprised by the results. Now, EPS understands that investing in expert online marketing campaigns brings candidates not only to their website, but to the information sessions that start the recruitment process.
Defining Needs, Setting Goals
After sitting down with EPS’ marketing team to discuss the department’s needs and goals, our SEO strategists prescribed city-specific pay per click (PPC) campaigns to support information/recruitment events. Our strategy also included Facebook and Twitter ads.
For our first assignment, Top Draw initiated a geo-specific PPC campaign for a Winnipeg recruiting trip. They had even more participants sign up than they expected and had to book a bigger room. Once Winnipeg wrapped up, it was time to move focus to the next stop on their recruitment tour: Surrey/Vancouver. They now know how much of an impact an effective online campaign can make. We’re working together to keep the momentum rolling as they host information sessions across the country.
