Today is a sad day. The Top Draw SEO family, and the entire SEO community, is mourning the loss of one of the kindest and brightest shining stars in our industry, Dana Lookadoo.
Dana started focusing on SEO in 2003, and, due to her caring nature and warm personality, she quickly became one of the industries top speakers and trusted professionals. Both Ken and I were fortunate enough to get to know her over the years.
Unfortunately, Dana was in a devastating cycling accident at the end of 2013, and, since then, had been experiencing serious health issues as a result of her extensive spinal injuries.
She was in a great deal of pain and discomfort, yet her positive attitude, thoughtfulness and love of people never once faltered. This is easily demonstrated by reading Dana’s personal account of the accident, her updates on Facebook if you were among her many friends, and her public Tweets.
One of the many qualities I personally admired about Dana, was that she genuinely took joy in other people’s accomplishments. Even though she was often in the spotlight, she was always eager to shine that spotlight on others:
Just want to say how much I appreciate @schachin! Not only is she a smart search marketer, but she’s good people! ;-)

This is a quality that’s not easy to find in our industry (world?) and it’s just one of the reasons that made Dana so very special. She touched many people’s lives and will be forever missed. It’s a sad day indeed. Goodbye sweet friend.
